April 14, 2022 — Urban Freight Lab researchers Thomas Maxner, Giacomo Dalla Chiara, and Anne Goodchild have published a new paper, "Identifying the Challenges to Sustainable Urban Last-Mile Deliveries: Perspectives from Public and Private Stakeholders", in Sustainability.

March 31, 2022 — The Urban Freight Lab and the School of Civil and Construction Engineering (Oregon State University) are seeking Corvallis-area commercial vehicle drivers for a one-hour driving simulation to understand travel behaviors and parking decision-making process. Participants will be paid $40. The study will help inform street design and curb management policies to accommodate safe and efficient operations in a shared urban roadway environment.

March 14, 2022 — The Urban Freight Lab announces the publication of a new Mapping the Challenges to Sustainable Urban Freight report, detailing the most significant challenges facing cities and companies to reducing carbon emissions in the last mile of goods delivery. With funding from Amazon, the project analyzed the 58 largest, densest, fastest-growing cities in the U.S. and the cities of Montréal and Vancouver in Canada.

March 17, 2022 — We are seeking candidates to lead the MSCTL program and teach in the on-campus Transportation Engineering program. We are seeking an engaged instructor that has a passion to lead a nimble organization and enjoys interacting with students, faculty, internal, and external stakeholders. The search is open to candidates with expertise in teaching and leadership within higher education, and knowledge in the Supply Chain Transportation and Logistics field.

February 28, 2022 — Urban Freight Lab researchers Fiete Krutein and Anne Goodchild (with Jennifer McGowan, Emergency Services Program Coordinator, Bowen Island, British Columbia, Canada) have published a new article, "Evacuating Isolated Islands with Marine Resources: A Bowen Island Case Study", in the International Journal for Disaster Risk Reduction.

January 24, 2022 — Urban Freight Lab Research Assistant José Luis Machado León (Ph.D. Transportation Engineering '22) defended his dissertation today, completing his graduate studies and earning his doctorate degree.

January 15, 2022 — The Master of Supply Chain Transportation & Logistics program (MSCTL) is pleased to announce that first-year student Kate Hallstead (MSCTL '23) has won the grand prize (a $10,000 cash award) in the campus-wide UW-Amazon Sustainable Transportation Innovation Idea Challenge.

January 15, 2022 — The Master of Supply Chain Transportation & Logistics program (MSCTL) is pleased to announce that first-year students Caryn Livingston (MSCTL '23) was awarded First Prize ($5,000 cash award) and Michael Howard (MSCTL '23) was awarded Second Prize ($2,500 cash award) in the campus-wide UW-Amazon Sustainable Transportation Innovation Idea Challenge. First-year student Kate Hallstead was awarded Grand Prize. The winners shared pitches with Amazon employees at a lunch event.

December 7, 2021 — France-based last-mile delivery vehicle producer FlexiModal has been named the grand prize winner of the Urban Freight Lab's fifth annual Tech Day: Electrifying the Final Mile pitch competition, open to early- and mid-stage startups around the world working on electric solutions in the last mile delivery space. FlexiModal's BicyLift is a bike trailer system that takes the place of traditional last-mile truck delivery.

December 17, 2021 — The Master of Supply Chain Transportation & Logistics program (MSCTL) has named incoming student Anna Martinez (MSCTL '23) the inaugural awardee of the Matson, Inc. Diversity in Supply Chain Scholarship, selected from this year's applicants for admission to receive $5,000 towards tuition expenses. Martinez earned her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in International Studies, focusing on global interconnection and international commerce.

December 15, 2021 — The Master of Supply Chain Transportation & Logistics program (MSCTL) has awarded Dave Hunsaker (MSCTL '23) a SCTL Scholarship, selected from this year's incoming students to receive $5,000 towards tuition expenses. Hunsaker has Bachelor's degrees from the University of Washington in Comparitive History of Ideas and from Evergreen State College in Molecular Biology, and a Master's degree in Bioscience from the Tokyo Institute of Technology.

December 15, 2021 — The Master of Supply Chain Transportation & Logistics program (MSCTL) has awarded Caryn Livingston (MSCTL '23) a SCTL Scholarship, selected from this year's incoming students to receive $5,000 towards tuition expenses. Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Livingston earned her Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Tulsa, and a Master of Arts in Literature from the University of Houston - Clear Lake.

October 15, 2021 — The Master of Supply Chain Transportation & Logistics program (MSCTL) has awarded Archana Kumar (MSCTL '23) a SCTL Scholarship, selected from this year's incoming students to receive $5,000 towards tuition expenses. Originally from Bangalore, India, Kumar earned a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from Garden City University.

December 15, 2021 — The Master of Supply Chain Transportation & Logistics program (MSCTL) has named incoming student Marc Ackermann (MSCTL '23) an awardee of a 2021 SCTL Scholarship, selected from this year's applicants for admission to receive $5,000 towards tuition expenses. Ackermann graduated from Boise State University with a BBA in Supply Chain Management, and then began a career with the BNSF Railway.

December 10, 2021 — The Urban Freight Lab is pleased to announce positive results produced from our Seattle Neighborhood Delivery Hub (Neighborhood Hub) pilot projects, one of the nation's first zero-emissions last-mile delivery projects, which operated in Seattle's Uptown neighborhood last April through July, in collaboration with the City of Seattle, and tech and delivery companies AxleHire, BrightDrop, Coaster Cycles, and REEF.
