Urban Freight Lab Ph.D. student Travis Fried and Post-Doctoral Researcher Sarah Dennis-Bauer were named Council of University Transportation Centers (CUTC) Outstanding Student of the Year 2024, both for Road Mode.
Each year, U.S. Department of Transportation-funded University Transportation Research Centers each select one student for this prestigious award, which is presented at the CUTC banquet during the Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting in January. The awards honor outstanding students, faculty, and leaders in transportation research and education.
Travis was nominated by Pacific Northwest Transportation Consortium (PacTrans), and Sarah was nominated by the National Center for Sustainable Transportation (NCST) —both recognized for their exceptional contributions to the field in 2024.
