May 1, 2018— We are pleased to welcome new Urban Freight Lab members Expeditors International of Washington, Ford Motor Company, and Kroger.
The UFL is a partnership between public and private sector companies associated with either receiving goods in the urban environment or moving goods on the ground. We are a living laboratory in which potential solutions to goods delivery problems are generated, evaluated, and tested inside urban towers and on city streets using a systems engineering approach. Members define, oversee, and fund our research. Continuing members are Charlie’s Produce, Nordstrom, UPS, U.S. Postal Service, and our partner Seattle Department of Transportation.
About the Urban Freight Lab (UFL): An innovative public-private partnership housed at the Supply Chain Transportation & Logistics Center at the University of Washington, the Urban Freight Lab is a structured workgroup that brings together private industry with City transportation officials to design and test solutions around urban freight management.
