September 13, 2017  Technology was the theme of the day for the Urban Freight Lab on September 12. At the very first Tech Day hosted by the SCTL Center, UFL members and venture capital leaders spent the afternoon listening to presentations and discussing how three very different emerging technologies could be applied to the Lab’s two priority problems.

Conversations continued at the Innovative Freight Technologies Executive Forum dinner immediately following Tech Day. Speaker Stephan Olsen, Director of Product Planning at Kenworth Truck Company, started the evening with an insightful overview of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a roadmap of autonomous vehicles in the trucking industry.

About the Urban Freight Lab (UFL): An innovative public-private partnership housed at the Supply Chain Transportation & Logistics Center at the University of Washington, the Urban Freight Lab is a structured workgroup that brings together private industry with City transportation officials to design and test solutions around urban freight management.
