If you’ve ever shopped online and come home to find a note on your mailbox that said “Package could not be delivered,” you understand the frustration of multiple delivery attempts. What you may not know is those delivery attempts can impact the environment and livability in your city. Our Transportation team is trying to address those problems through a partnership with Costco, UPS, USPS, Charlie’s Produce, the City of Seattle and the University of Washington.
Nordstrom shared this piece with employees and immediately received positive feedback – they’re excited! Comments like this one highlight the critical need for improved urban goods delivery processes:
Sooo excited our company is working on this! I order so much from Nordstrom.com and UPS will only leave with the leasing office in my building, but my leasing office has started getting so many more packages that they won’t accept deliveries they have to sign for anymore. Thus UPS ends up making several attempts to deliver because I’m always at work when they try! Huge problem on sooo many levels and super annoying as a customer!
